The Southwestern Manitoba Regional Library Melita Branch holds over 22 ,709 books or items on a wide variety of subjects. Also part of the library’s collection is non-print materials such as videos and talking books. The public is also encouraged to access the internet, word processors and informational programs available on the two library computers for a small fee.

Melita has an 11 bed hospital with a 20 bed personal care unit adjacent. The health complex also provides space for community health, public health, mental health, continuing care and therapy services.

A program offered to eligible persons to provide socialization and activities for the client and/or respite are for the caregiver.

Adult Community Mental Health
Counselling to adult individuals experiencing mental health concerns. Facilitates admission to appropriate medical/psychiatric facilities when necessary.

Pre-hospital emergency care and transfer to other care facilities is provided 24 hours a day by trained volunteers and professional staff. Please contact 911.

Home emergency response system for the elderly and disabled.

Cardiac/Diabetic Education Program
Provides education programs for people with diabetes and their families upon physician referral. Also includes education for health care professionals.

Scheduled lab and x-ray services are provided Monday to Friday, during regular hours and on emergency basis.

Senior Services and Congregate Meals
Senior Services of Antler River offers volunteer and fee for service to seniors and disabled persons, such as : Emergency Response Info Kit; Lifeline Emergency Response System; information; recreation; blood pressure checks; foot care; visiting; transportation; errands; yard work; housecleaning; and much more.
They also offer Congregate Meals for seniors to have a nutritious, well-balanced noon meal, and at the same time, offering opportunity for socializing in a home-like atmosphere. View their brochure: cover page, inside page

Services are provided to clients needing assistance to meet their activities of daily living needs and meeting the criteria, this service is adjusted to each individuals needs.

The Regional Pallative Care Program provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary, integrated end of life care to individuals and their family members throughout illness and bereavement.
