Mayor - R.F. (Bob) Walker

R.F. (Bob) Walker was born and raised in Melita. He attended Melita School and Brandon University for his BA, Education. Bob taught business at the Grades 10-12 levels at Miami, Manitoba for four years, then he returned to Melita as the manager/owner of Souris Valley Processors Ltd. from 1973 until 1998. He is married to Marlene (nee Spencer) and they have one son, Michael and wife Charlene, residing in Nepean, Ontario.

Carolyn Porter

Carolyn was born, raised, schooled and married in Winnipeg.  She and her husband relocated to Melita in 1975 to raise a family in a safe and healthy environment. She has three sons. Tyler and wife Teresa (Stovin) of Carnduff and Grandchildren Everet & Ella live in Brandon. Taggart & wife Angela(LeClair) of Winnipeg & grandson Kade reside in Winnipeg. Nicholas and Marion Tartarin of Nantes France live in Montreal.

Bill Holden

Appointments: Melita Arena, Melita Handi-Van, Elderly Persons Housing, Equipment, Water & Sewer, Melita & Area Fire Board.

Bill Warren

Bill was born and raised in Melita.  He has three grown children and five grandchildren. Bill attended school in Melita and at Brandon University Education - Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Education.

Bill taught for 21 years and then was Student Services Coordinator for 16.5 years and then retired. Presently he owns McPhail Travel Melita.

Appointments: ARRD, Economic Development, Southwest Vet Board, Chamber of Commerce, Turtle Mountain – Souris Plains Heritage, Tourism, Melita Curling Rink, Melita Cemetery.

Joceyln Skelton
