Walking Trails/Cross-country Skiing

SkiingThe Melita & Area Trail Committee has been actively working with the local Economic Development Corporation and government agencies to develop and maintain walking and cross country ski trails within the Melita area.  One trail system is developed with groomed walking/ski trails, wildlife signage, a bridge and a parking lot. This trail system is called the Gerald Mallaher Wildlife Management Area. There are 5 kilometres of groomed walking and cross-country ski trails within this location.  The trails are located one mile west of Melita off of highway 445.

Currently the committee is working on the development of a trail in Souris River Park which will complement the flow of the Souris River. Call (204)-522-2490 for more information.
